Tight Ladder was a hypothetical product created for Cross Functional Core – a semester-long business plan project where teams were tasked with exploring the integrations of marketing, finance, operations, and business analytics. My team recognized the need for student athletes to continue training outside of practice and we sought to create a tech embedded product that would guide them through exercise circuits, essentially reducing the need to hire private coaching.

THE PRODUCT -

Tight Ladder is the WORLD’S first agility ladder with embedded technology.

It was designed to give student athletes the ability to track their progress, personalize their drills, and promote healthy competition between teammates through the use of our accompanying app. These functions are accomplished through the use of motion sensors, bluetooth connectivity, and guidance oriented LED lights.

THE TL APP -

The TL App acts as the epicenter of the Tight Ladder experience.

Not only does the app sync to the product to guide users through drills, it functions as a hub for constant growth and competitive reinforcement. Within the app, users can see drill feedback, access resources for training tips and suggestions, and share results with friends, family, coaches, or teammates.

MARKET SEGMENTATION -

BRAND IDENTITY -

Tight Ladder is defined by competition, drive, and innovation.

Users of The Tight Ladder hold themselves to a higher standard, they embody unwavering perseverance and an intense desire for constant growth. Tight Ladder exists to push athletes to step up their game. Outdoor marketing assets would consist of strategically placed billboards and posters, designed to inspire the next generation of athletes.

OUTCOMES AND NEXT STEPS -

Our team was incredibly proud of our product ideation as well as becoming finalists in our school’s Core Challenge. In terms of designing the brand identity for Tight Ladder, I had such a fun time exploring this new style and watching my ideas come to life.

OUTCOMES

NEXT STEPS

In the future, if Tight Ladder were to ever exist, my team discussed several brand extension opportunities including tech-embedded products with similar tracking features. Our next idea was a lace lock that athletes could attach to their shoes to get in-game stats.
